I'm sorry if this topic has probably been discussed before, so please bear with me. Can anyone in IN, or any state for that matter, give me any ideas for insurance. I am going to turn 29 this year and have been licensed for a motorcycle for four years(I thought this would account for something). I also have a clean record for five years. I called my insurance(Erie Ins.) for a quote on a '04 1k. The cheapest rate they came up with was $1700+. Progressive, being the worst, gave a quote of $4700!!! Now I used to have an '01 GSX-R 750 that I bought in '01, and at the time I had a hell of a time finding a decent rate. I ended up going to motorcycleservices.com and got insured for $550 a year. But now they no longer cover any sportbikes. Due to an accident that wasn't my fault I no longer have my 750. I really want to get back to riding again and I can't imagine going with anything other than a beloved Gixer. So, where do all of you get your insurance from? Does everyone here have high rates? High to me being over $1000.

try either state farm or farm bureau.
i am 28, have state farm and pay less than $300 a year for full coverage on a 01 gsxr 750!!

I also use Farm Bureau. Mine is around $400/yr on a R1. Age 26.

If your record is clean then I say State Farm. I pay $276 full coverage on my 01' 1000 here in Indy. I think you have to have your car with them as well to do a bike but still they are cheap on auto's too. Check them out man!!

Thanks everyone. Sounds like State Farm is the way to go. I also heard that Nationwide Insurance give good rates too.
Hey Clark, your '01 1k is badass. How do you like the 208's? I got a pair last summer and just broke them in right before my accident and never got to appreciate them.

tell me about it, i went in there expecting atleast 100$ a month and she was like I'll give you a quote for a 2003 since the 2004 aren't in the comp and she was like 33.17$ full coverage, should only be a few dollars more for a 2004 which will get insurance on it when It gets here in Mar

What's the phone number to that State Farm agent? Do you already have a car insured with them?
