: Yay! Got my CCW permit...and it only took a week!

Unbelievably my CCW permit arrived in the mail today even though I just took the class last Saturday and mailed my stuff in last Tuesday. Arizona DPS must have worked overtime to catch up to their backlog since it was supposedly taking 60 days up until relatively recently.

It got here so fast I haven't even gotten my carry gun and holster(s) sorted yet lol.

Arizona is leading the way for 2nd amendment rights so I'm not completely shocked but that is certainly a great turnaround. Carry it with pride and get as many people on board as you can. Be sure you know your local laws and what you can and more importantly can NOT do is it's better to know now than wonder when lives are on the line.

Wow, that was fast. But there are some states where you walk away with one the same day you apply for it. Here in Oakland County, Michigan (where I live) mine took just over 3 weeks. Some counties take well into 6 months. :dissapointed

I'm jealous, here in San Diego its almost imposable to get your CCW unless you own a small business. Congrats though

I'm jealous! Here in Kansas, there is a minimum 45 day wait. I'm on vacation in VA right now, so my license will be in the mail waiting for me once I get back!

I'm gonna try and do just that. I've already read a bunch of books on concealed carry and am spending a lot of time at the range - have to say, this is one kind of practicing I don't mind blowing a ton of time on lol (I do mind the ammo costs though boohoo).

I feel for you dude. We're right beside the California border and I spend a lot of time visiting relatives or enjoying the outdoors over there and it's annoying to know I can carry for protection legally in Arizona but can't do so just 20 miles west of where I live. It's retarded! I visit LA a lot and frankly I feel a heck of a lot less safe there than anywhere I've been in Arizona.

Actually, when the little envelope arrived from DPS so soon the first thing that I thought was that there was some screw-up. My heartrate came back down when I saw the little card in there :biggrin

Be smart. You are likely to get pulled over in a car in CA...... so be careful, and discreet, and chose your battles.

but Concealed carry, is just that. Concealed. ;)

I think Jer taught me that :lol

For now my plan for Cali next time I'm there will be to have at least my OC spray and a tactical flashlight with me. I need to check what the knife laws are over there to see if I can carry one of my folders with me - if not there's always the multi-tool or Jer's utility knife idea lol.

Congragulations!! Florida takes a minimum of 90 days. Recently it has been taking 5 months or more due to backlog. Shoot often, practice good tactics and most important do not go anywhere with a gun that you would not go with out a gun.

Mine took 90 days to the mark. NM DPS had everything ready, just had to wait on the FBI background check. FBI has as long as they want to reply.
