What would be the route to consider?
1. Purchasing a complete ready to use rifle
2. Purchasing Lower, Upper etc.
Any advise would be appreciated....

Personal preference.
I bought a fully assembled AR. Some like to put their own work into it, and different lowers with different uppers, ect...
I'm happy with mine.

If you don't mind me asking, what brand is yours and the price? Thanks

Read this thread that was just posted asking the same type of questions less than 2 weeks ago:

Go to M4carbine.net and read the stickies - there's a lot to know about picking an AR. Which AR you choose also depends a lot on what you intend to use it for (and your budget of course) - you didn't mention if this was just a hobby gun or will be needed for self-defense.
For a first AR, I side with buying a complete rifle. Buy it, learn from it, and shoot a ton of rounds through it. Also, once you factor in the time spent and the need for specialized tools (MOACKs, armorer's wrench, handguard tool, etc.) you probably won't save any money building your own if that's what you're after.

Mine is a DPMS .308 Panther. It was about 1 grand after tax. The scope was 500, its a Nikon Monarch 4x16x42
For your first and only I would say to start with an AR15 and not an AR10 as V2 has posted. Smaller platform, more versatile and cheaper ammo. Not to mention more parts manufacturers and better for all around use like CQB and home protection. Once you have all that down and want a long range precision rifle look into an AR10 or bolt file in the .308 caliber.
And has already been stated read read read. Start on M4Carbine.net forums and then check out AR15.coma little too. That forum is annoying more than anything though.

I want one and wouldnt mind one to have as a hobby shooter but also able to be used as a longe range for hunting possibly. Got home defense covered so no need for it in that aspect.
Unfotunately im on a vandetta to get back to debt free status and cannot afford at the moment plus looking to get orders for an overseas assignment here soon and dont wanna go through the hassel of trying to take all my guns.
But thank you at least for the informative sites to go read up on so i can try to determine which one would be best fit for my purchase when i can make it
