So I was changing my oil yesterday and I ended up cracking the oil pan. I noticed the crack after I put the new oil in as it was seeping through the crack. So i had to drain the newly added oil to JB Weld the crack (temporary solution) until i buy a new pan and gasket.

My question:
The oil I put in was new but it's Dark BROWN when i drained it rather than the gold color out of the bottle. is it still good to use?

As long as you were careful to avoid contamination in the catch pan, fine to use.

that sucks, i just do it to where its "snug and sealed". but then again i torque like 300 lug nuts everyday so my hand had a built in "torque meter".

if u JB welb it u will probably have to sandpaper it to ruff it up otherwise it may just fall of when it heats up to "X"temp. i would get the putty stick from JB
