Hey GDC! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My DSL internet connection Feels REALLY slow and it is starting to annoy me. I was never to happy with qwest Dsl service anyway... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

Is there anyway to actually check my connection speed and make sure it is up to spec? I want to make sure it is actually the Dsl not my computer or something.

Thanks http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Here is what I got...

2004-01-19 01:38:06 EST: 42 / 44
Your download speed : 42376 bps, or 42 kbps.
A 5.1 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 44752 bps, or 44 kbps.
Your connection hardly qualified as broadband, at least in that test

So is that what I should be at for dsl? Is says I am barly at broadband? Am I actually slower then a 56k or what?

Yeah, that's really slow. Most dsl providers offer packages between 384k and 1.5M down. Just to double check, click here for another bandwidth test. http://webservices.cnet.com/bandwidth/

Make sure you don't have anything like kazaa (lite), winmx, online games, streaming music/video, or any other software that uses bandwidth on any computers that share this connection when you do the test. A lot of times, people don't realize that kazaa is running on a computer on their network sucking up all their bandwidth.
