it depends on what programs you want running...
why are you closing them?? are you looking to close something in particular??

Here is a kick ass utility that will tell you what you need etc., as well as what each do.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Process Explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml)

i just rebooted this morning and got the onetouch back. however i still would like to know if i could get rid of some of these other processes? i downloaded those 2 programs but since i'm not quite that computer literate, they don't tell me much http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif but i do remember someone had posted a site up long time ago in AG about all the processes, it explained what each one was and told you if it was necessary, i wish i still knew that website http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Off the top of my head, I don't know of any such website. I'm sure with some creative google searching, you could find one. Once you get an idea of what applications are running default on most every windows installation, you could try and narrow down whether or not you need some of the straggler programs that aren't part of windows. I use a combination of filemon (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/filemon.shtml) and process explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml) so I can get an idea of which processes are unecessary. They help to give a better picture of what's running and why.
