Having problems with new dvdrw drive and capture card i installed. Drive will play audio cd's and dvd, but will not burn. I am trying to transfer vhs to dvd. It's a sony dvd-rw model dwu14a and a Winfast tv2000xp card. any help would be great as I've run out of http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/idea.gif's.

What software are you running?? i don't have a dvd burner yet since the one i want is one back order but I do have a MSI TV@nywhere master capture card installed. I don't know if this will help but when I record a show and covert to vcd to be later played on dvd players this is what I do. i record the program or vhs input with the MSI capture card software...then i use intervideo WinDVD Creator Plus to edit the recording / put menus and stuff into it, then I hit make CD and it asks for the format I want to use dvd, mpeg, vcd, super vcd...etc...and I pick vcd and hit burn it. As soon as I get my dvd burner i'll be able to help but i'd say it's a software thing as long as your dvd player is able to burn dvds properly. just check the settings and set what format it writes to the dvd if it's dvd format or vcd or mpeg.
