I crashed my street fighter yesterday and trashed the RH Engine cover and the little starter cover above it. Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket covers that they would like to share ?
I've looked at lots of pictures but they don't tell you how they fit, how strong they are etc.
Thanks in advance...

i've got 'factory pro' billet heavy duty covers on my '89 7/11 , the quality & fit is awesome . They are very thick also - i dont doubt that they would be significantly tougher than the stock items in the event of a spill . Needless to say i'm reluctant to test the theory personally , but one of my mates dropped his bandit 12 with the same covers on , and although the bike copped a fair bit of rash , the engine stayed oil tight and he was able to ride it home .

You can get NRC heavy duty engine covers from demon tweeks there a lot cheaper Factory stuff, and there approved for racing use so they should be tough enough. If you got the time they can be polished to a mirror finish or you can get them powder coated
