What are some good snacks for between meals or at night that taste like sweets but are low in carbs? I've tried a lot of the high prot/low carb bars and I love the detour bars. Any other suggestions?

peanut butter tends to be pretty decent. high amount of protein, good fats. a bodybuilders best friend.

Peanut butter is GREAT for a sweet tooth body builder. Here's a good snack idea. Take your natural peanut butter and mix a little protein powder / chocolate whey with it. You'll need to fold the peanut butter quite a few times to get the powder to mix, but when you do it becomes like ICING! Then slice up an apple and spred it on. This shit is the BOMB and very rich in nutrients too! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

yeah, I have the WORST sweet tooth. I usually eat half a pbj or something late at night. Sugar free jam and wheat bread.

BTW, get low fat PB. I doubt you'll notice the difference and it shaves about 25% of the fat calories off.

PB is a great resourse for active people because it has plenty of protien, low saturated fat and the mono/poly unsaturated foods like that tend to leave you feeling more satiated so you don't feel like you have to eat again right after.

There are tons of great recipes for PB, fruit and protein shakes for breakfast.

when training hard ill try to stick to banana's at night.. my problem is i wake up in the middle of the night craving sugar all the time.. (i think im hypoglycemic) so usually a few oreo's and milk do the trick... but for myself, if im dieting well enough during the day and training hard it doesnt hurt me. although, i never trained to be a bodybuilder. i only wanted to be an animal. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
