with the loss of good/free legal spots to ride my KTM 380mxc, I have been thinking of turning it into a supermoto just to get some use out of it. It would be a good cheap addition to take to trackdays with my 86 750.
Anybody have any thoughts about a two stroke supermotard?
here's a link to my original thread started in the oiler section before I knew about this new forum. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225969

There is always a guy or two that shows up at our practice or races with a 2 smoker. Never really pay any attention to how he does but if you just want to have some SM fun...go for it.
Nothing more to say except I love my YZ450f SM.:punk:punk:punk

That's what I'm thinking. I already have the bike and it wouldn't take much to convert it. Could be interesting.

Go for it. Most of the 2-smoke tards where I run are 85's. My brother's got a CR125 in pieces that he wants to put back together as a motard.

You could probably buy a set of wheels (laced up), a 320mm rotor and a relocation bracket for well under $1000.00. Much less if you go used.
www.supermotojunkie.com (http://www.supermotojunkie.com) is the place to look if you want to go used.
Unless my son is born between now and Sunday, I'll get to turn some laps this Sunday morning prior to our races at E-Town (with the new dirt section:punk:punk). Can't race because the wife has me on a no race ban until the baby is born but she is giving me the green light on just running the morning practice this Sunday....as long as I don't do anything stupid.
