This is the bottom of the steering head... are the steering stops normal or are they ground down (which is what it looks like to me)?

Fuck that, he was one up on me and I'm still fucking mad as hell about it. I'm wondering why I was willing to let it drop in the first place. Kind of mad at myself for it actually. I find it hard to respect the work of someone that breaks the law in the way he did. We ain't talking about something minor, we are talking about altering a VIN. And then shoving it in my face and justifying it. No, I decided not to let it drop after all. He had his chance to let it drop but then brought it back to life. So be it.

i try to keep out of things like this - but its something to do with a post in geek-mans project thread - i havent read it all so cant comment but seems like a raw topic - im guessing it has something to do with theft wich is always a touchy subject - i hate thieves
anyway as i say i steer clear and just enjoy the forum as a whole - lifes too short

There is, he has a post about his "build" where he posted a photo of a data plate removed, and a new one riveted in it's place along with the last few numbers of a VIN re-stamped. He went into detail about his other "mods" but neglected to comment on that one. I called him on it and he threw a little pissy fit about how I didn't compliment him and instead pointed out the altered VIN, then made the thread about myself balh, blah, blah. Bottom line is that he altered the VIN, admitted to it after I called him on it, said he thought it was clean (but didn't have local law enforcement check on it), and didn't think anyone would care about his altering the numbers on it because it was just a piece of shit and not some rare Ducati. Gotta admit, his attitude is stellar. Anyway, for some reason, I let it go - had better things to worry about - until he made a snive little comment that made me want to smash his fucking face with a hammer, and then here we are again.

So, the facts are: 1) he had a wrecked frame with a good title and wanted to build a GSXR; 2) he purchased a good clean frame from some farmer (this story sounds remotely familiar?) that did not have a title; 3) he removed the data plate and ground off the last few numbers of his frame and restamped them to match a title he did have; 4) after I pointed it out he "checked" them out on a website and posted the results for 2 unidentifiable VIN's; 5) he thought it was funny that my bike was stolen and that I'm a little sensitive about thieves, cowards, and altered VIN's.

Maybe he didn't steal it, maybe it wasn't stolen, but he did alter the VIN without knowing if it was stolen and didn't care which is the sort of thing dishonest people do. He had an opportunity to gracefully admit a mistake and have local law enforcement check it out, but he wanted me to compliment him on a job well-done instead. There's a lot of things I can do, but that ain't one of them. You can do a search on his name and find the thread, but I won't do him the favor of bumping it back up to the top.

Eric...Eric...Eric...Too much negative energy spent here! Spend it on something more useful like continuing to hate Glenn for being the cretin that he is!
Now that's productive hating right there!
This guy doesn't get it but you get it and we get it!
Not everyone is 100% like yourself and expecting them to be will only disappoint! (and you know that i know all about disappointment)
His little digs will only continue to to infuriate you so let it go my brother!
Or...spend your days hating Glenn and put that negative energy where it belongs!

It's not if people see things my way or not. There are a lot of things that I don't see eye to eye on with people I like but that doesn't stop me from being friends. But, what we are talking about here is a clear violation of a law that is there to protect people that have had things stolen from them. It is a law that we should all, being honest people at heart, should embrace. It is a law that those who violate it should welcome the sort of questions that will be asked and a provide sound solution for a problem that is in accodence with the law - not get all pissy and whiney about how it's about me and why can't I pay a compliment...

Like I said, I dropped it before, but I'm not going to do that now. The right way out of this is to get a new frame for the build, one with a title, and take the butchered one to law enforcement because that one is now junk. They probably won't press charges on him for it unless he acts like an ass as he did on this forum and tries to justify it. A good clean first gen frame with title can be had for what, $250? So, why not just spend the $250 and get one?

Wow, guess you told me huh? Seems like a lot of your posts are full of this type of information. You seem to be a real smart guy. Must be, since your profile says you are a SENIOR fund manage at the young age of 24. I guess we are supposed to belive that crap. Face it, you are a loser. Probably always will be too. And the best part is that you, the person that pointed the finger at the thread jacker, has now become the thread jacker himself. Poetic.

It's cute that you went through my profile and sent me PM's trying to get me to send you naked pics via cell phone, however that's my job title, i really don't have to justify my job via the internet. And I'm a totally huge loser... says the person who lives in socal with all the hippies, i bet you frequent SF. Either way I'm ignoring you before I get more PM's from you about naked pics... and PS - there's a difference between a senior fund MANAGER, or like it says in my profile, senior fund accountant you illiterate retard... I'm glad someone stole your bike back in the day, one less bitch on the road.

Again, the guy that accused me of being a thread jacker has stolen the show. How does a SENIOR fund executive find the time to do this?

Mtalicarox
04-28-2009, 12:07 PM
executive.. seriously learn to fckin read.. ACCOUNTANT, senior fund ACCOUNTANT. It's called multitasking too. I thought there was a basic reading requirement to get into the marines so you could handle the arduous task of switching your rifle from fire and safety... am I wrong on this?

Yes... frame looks normal, no problem.

Im 110% with Long on this one... no reason in the world justifies altering VINs...

Yes, Im still pissed my 88 750 got stolen in Phoenix in 1990...

And as for you, please remove your dumbass from the OC section, you are obviously lost...

Every state has a different approach to altered vin numbers but i believe altering them yourself is always the same, ILLEGAL!
Stamping numbers yourself into a blank frame falls under the same jurisdiction i believe but i can't speak for every state.
Being the internet policeman is a losing proposition and will only fuel the fires of discontent. I guess once you have something stolen from you, especially something with many personal B.S.T. hours into it, you become a little hypersensitive when things like this arise. You can't keep the world safe all the time nor can we always be safe from each other.
This has only become a pissing match with nothing to gain when all the swinging dicks have had their fun.
We all know how Eric feels about this and from most, if not all perspectives, he is correct!
But...You can't force the populous to fill in rank and file and expect them to do/act as you do.
We know you are above board "E" and that is really what counts here!

long_av8r
04-28-2009, 01:27 PM
Be that as it may SRAD, I can not look the other way. More importantly, I can not tell him what a great job he is doing on something so blatantly altered. I did that once and didn't feel it was right, and then he came back and slapped me in the face with it. That was really all it took to re-ignitie it. Now I feel compelled to bring it up with every photo he posts of it, because every photo reminds me of it.

geekman said he wasn't coming back, but whenever i see him post, i think about how he is such an honest citizen.

i was going to bid on some ebay parts, but when i realized they were geekman's, i passed.

i had my "jap" bike stolen years ago and it pisses me off when i think about it. i am more pissed at him because of his attempts to justify his actions.
