Question for those that have cut their pipes. I cut my D&D pipe several weeks ago and the job went flawless, however, as you may already know the D&D is loud enough as it is, no imagine it half the size.

So I recently got a used TRS off eBay, and last night I proceeded to cut the pipe. Well, I finished the job but had one question. I was unable to get the baffle to accept the cone so as a result there is a gap between the cone and baffle -- does anyone see this as an issue? Will this cause problems ... I'm thinking it would cause negligible issues, but wanted your feedback.

I dont think it would cause much of a problem. I love the shorty style exhaust, the sound and the clean look without the rear pegs is sweet.

you need to flange the baffle... as stated in the thread where u got the idea from. dont be a lazy ass, read the pages in the thread. i posted specific instructions and pictures on how to do it. if you did read all the pages you would not have to waste a thread on a topic like this.

i dont mean to sound like a ass but thats just the way it is.

i cut my gf's old hindle that she bunged up on one end from a low side.. its now 15 inches.. had to take like 3 inches out of it to get rid the damage and also flipped the outside to the inside so the smaller scuffs are towards the tire.

I actually read the thread 3 times...

It was near impossible to get the weld spots off of the cone, so I ended up cutting the baffle near the end. When I tried to flange the cone, it wouldn't accept it so as a result there is a gap between the cone and baffle. Not a huge gap, but a gap nonetheless -- could this be problematic?

When I tried starting the bike up, it would only stay running when the choke was on ... is this problem related to the shorty pipe mod?

no its not the pipes fault... if it ran with a crap d&d on it then it will run with a shorty trs. and to get the welds u need a grinder. a tiny gap should NOT affect things as long as its tight in place and is straight and or not rattling its ok i GUESS.
