Hi all, just after everyones expert opinon on swopping my '88 36mm carbs with a set of '96 RF900R 36mm carbs. The only problem i can see possibly is the spacing between each carb may be wider. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.:scratch
cheer's, Geoff. :cheers

The RF is watercooled, spacing is different. If both are BST36 you'll probably be able to change spacing plates, but you'll need to synch carbs afterwards. My guess they use completely different pilots, needles, etc too so you'll have lots of work to do. Only worth it if you can get a real good deal on them imo.

Isn't it sidedraft vs downdraft heads and thus different carbs making it completely full of hassle to switch them?

Yeah that's basically what i was thinkin. I'll have to check jet sizes etc i do know that the main's the same 112.5. The carbs will have to be rejetted anyway to suit this motor, bike still runs a bit lean with stock jetting & stage 3 Dynojet needles. Mixture screws are out @3 turns. cheer's Geoff.

From the picture they look essentially the same.
