I've never used the MEZ3's but I love my ME1's. That price isn't bad, but you need to be sure that you can economically mount and balance them before you go buying mail-order tires. ...There's "cycle gear" stores in my area, and they mount/balance tires for $14.95 ea. ...but I know that depending upon your location, you may have trouble finding a dealer/shop that will be willing to do it for a reasonable price.

My boss rides an R1100RT and will only use Metzler tires. I did a lot of research, into facts and opinions, and when my Katana needed tires, it got MEZ4's. Same when my GSXR needed a rear and that's what it is getting on the front too. A pair of MEZ1's would be ideal for a bike like mine but I care more about wear - I'm willing to give up a little bit of stickiness. Especially because my tires have never slipped unexpectedly! They're great. What really sold me, besides the customer satisfaction, is the fact that every single Metzler tire is hand inspected at the factory. Not 1 in 100, not 1 in 10, all of em. They're balanced too, and have the lowest return rate of any motorcycle tire. With Metzeler's I didn't need any weights on the 3 wheels I have them on - same with my boss who found out the quality of the tires rendered his $150 static wheel balancer useless.

So, to summarize, I'd buy any Metzler tire with confidence http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
