Need a new case for the AR, the one that it comes in is way to long and to narrow to use with the scope. Looking at this one...any thoughts? Good case? Good price?

I think Pelican makes some really nice cases. I hope the prices shown were someones poor attempt at humor though. :dissapointed

LOL, that "reg price" is a typo, after adding foam and hitting order, comes out to just over 158.

Pelican Cases are the shit:cheers I don't have one, until you showed me that link for a good price:shifty But Ive seen them and like them. They are durable as all hell frm what I hear. I have a Mezzi double sided case to carry my Panther 308, 2 pistols and another rifle.

Now I may look at that same case you are looking at:biggrin

Did you order one? If so, get any kind of confirmation yet? When I go to check the status, the fields are blank. Sent them an email yesterday, haven't heard back :dunno

Well, the case arrived today. And although it arrived, I'm still not pleased with dtdistributors. Says it comes with "pluck foam" in their description, but the pamphlet says this style doesn't come with pluck foam, not to worried. Sent two emails, no reply. Phone call, left a msg on a generic voice mail, no call back. And, for shits n giggles, I checked my order, the status and tracking are still blank. In a nutshell, got the item, but their cust service is horrible.

So you have to trace your gun to the foam and cut it out? I guess:dunno Trace a little smaller so the gun fits snug. I had to do that to my 4 pistol carry case. Was a tedious project but ended up nice:cheers

Yea, it has 3 layers of foam. One for the top, then two for bottom. Says to trace it out with chalk, remove, then make a new lines 1/4" smaller so once its cut it makes a snug fit. Then says to glue the cut out foam to the bottom layer. Its an awesome case, I definitely recommend it...don't think I'm gonna order from then again though, eventhough they seem to have great prices.

Have fun cutting and take your time:cheers

Try and leave room for your mags, and maybe a pistol cut out:biggrin

So I'm finally getting around to setting everything into place. Still indecisive on how I wanna place a few things. Made it so I could also fit a couple of my pistols in there too. Thoughts? Angle of the pic makes it seem like theres no room at the end of the barrel, but theres a good 3/4".

(I keep all my mags separate)

attaching everything to the gun will free up room for a shotty.

With how everything sits, it seems it would be a better fit if separated. Everything stays protected should it drop from a good distance. Looking through ar15.com everyone keeps everything separate as well :dunno
