Okay this guy over in the forsale section emailed me back and said the he was helping his friend sell a 89gsxr750rr
"brand new in the crate"(wouldn't it still ned new tires and lines?) and asking 10-11kus dollars(hes in canada), does this just seem like a bit much to anyone else, I know homol,ogation specials are pricey but i thought that the 89rr was a canadian model option that we didn't get. Anyway I think it is a good looking old gixxer and was going to make an offer till he said 10000.

it wasn't just a canadian option - it was produced in (relatively) limited numbers. had 40mm slingshot carbs, close ratio tranny, long stroke motor (the regular 89 750 had the short stroke until 90), solo tail section, magnesium case covers, etc. also i think they may have had titanium connecting rods and aluminum tanks, but i'm not totally sure.
the fairings and tank are definitely different than the regular 750 of that year.
