I carry a Glock 23, a little more stopping power, but compact enough that I barely notice it. You could get a 19 if your heart is set on a 9. Or save stock pile for a future purchase.

I must say if I had a gun "lock up on me" I'd definitely not trust it any longer. If it is a gun I purchased to carry, I'd get it fixed under warranty and off it. But if you decide to keep it, you could keep it as a range gun and get more trigger time to get more practice. If you shoot quite a bit, ammo costs will dwarf the cost of the pistol so if you can afford to keep both, do it.

This is my train of thought as well. I was actually looking at/considering a Glock 26 at the time I bought the 1911. Now that I have that, it's a bit of a toss-up between a 26 and a 30.

I just bought a Glock 26 (should be here Wednesday) but also have the 27. The 27 is a snappy beast and that's part of the reason I ordered the 26.. The 30 is one of my favorite Glocks. A little chunky but I've put well over 5,000 rounds through it without a single issue. It snaps less than the .40 Cal Glocks and is great on follow up shots. You wouldn't be dissapointed.

I love my 9mm as my main gun. Its a full size pistol, better long range reach and also can hold 18 rds of ammo. As a backup I have my 45 compact with 10 rounds. Love having both of best worlds!!

You could pick up something like a KelTec PF-9 as a carry gun :dunno
