ok...heres the story....when i blew the top end in may '02 I had the mechanic tear apart the bike and pull of the head to find out that the #4 piston had 5 holes in it......exhaust valve went out and did the damage......scary moment....coming out of a sweeping 50mph turn..rolling on the throttle to 75....heard something go out like i hit something on the road.......saw white smoke come out of the pipe....looked down into the radiator...saw some more white smoke.....immediate shutdown of the motor.....rolled it to a safe stop on the side of the freeway.....with my wife on the back seat.

so until earlier this year....never looked at my inventory until i started working on the bike again....LOTS OF THINGS MISSING!!!!! pissed as hell.....i asked the mechanic where the stuff is.....never to be found again.......the thing i really wanted to put back on the bike was the duplex exhaust.....but i was missing one of the mounts for the headers that goes into the head...so i went and bought a zyclone race setup....the #3 head pipe is touching the oil filter so i'm kinda scared to run her after the carbs are put in......MY QUESTION IS...does anyone have one or a complete set of mounts for the race duplex(the one with the two canisters on each pair of the headers).....or is there some shop out there who might carry the whole set so that i can get the duplex back on so that i can clear the oil filter.....so that i dont kill myself with some kind of oil leak that will take out my rear end......thx guys

Are we talking about an 02' model GSXR here? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif If this is a 93'-95' then there were two different spigots used on the Yosh Systems on these pipes too....... the older type is discontinued and unavailable. The newer ones are very expensive from Yosh....... I went through this when I bought a duplex from 93Gixxer6/7...... I ended up having my friend over at M4 Exhaust modify my header pipes to use the M4 style spigots......which he gave me for free.

basically what we did is this..... since the version of Duplex I had was the older style(which means the header pipe fit inside the spigot) we converted it to the style that fits inside the header pipe. This involves flaring the header pipes. I haven't talked to my contact at M4 in a while...... he's really hesitant to work on anyones stuff anymore and I don't know if I could convince him to do this again..... I could ask though. I might possibly have a second contact there that may be more willing to work with me but I will have to check.

Alternatively have you called Yoshimura about a replacement just in case you have the newer style?

i talked to yosh a while back about this and they don't make nothing past 96...which really bites...i don't think i have the newer style...it's gonna be the same for your 6/7....do you think the other models that yosh made like the zyclone will fit on the duplex?...something to think about i guess.....that #3 header touching the oil filter just scares me....and it's giving me a headache http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

Header wrap....wrap the shit out of it where it touches....must suck to have to drop the headers to change your oil.....

that's why i don't really want to use this exhaust setup....i would like to put the duplex back on....because the duplex gave me no problems when it came down to changing the oil.... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cry.gif
