the only proble is there is no reserve and you have to remember to turn it off after yur done riding. all in all Pingel is the best http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Good question. I gave up after I decided that I'd prolly destroy the casting in the process and I bought a pingel for mine. ...which ARE available with a "reserve" position in addition to the standard "on/off".

Cat I tried to get one with a reserve and Pingel says it won't fit due to "space" constriants.
on the GSXR's because of the lever throw was too long .the part numbers that were givin were 32GSXR-D-AH for the petcock and A1702C-0 for the adapter plate. Maybe if Pingel spaced their tank up alittle like you did yous it'll work.I got this info from info@pingelonline.com

Next time you come over, remind me to show you my setup... I spaced the tank up, and very carefully bent the lever, and there is absolutely no room to spare... it's a tight fit for-sure. If they had told me that it would fit with "minimal hassle" when I bought it, I woulda called them liars, so it's completely understandable that they would say that it will not fit... because even with a lot of tweaking and improvising, it just *barely* fits. Even with all of that, I still think that this was one of the best-spent-$-mods that I have on my bike.

Cat,
Hopefully I won't wuss out and ride mine over to the "cat" garage so we can compare them both. I did not raise up my tank and the pingel petcock fits. it's alittle tight in there and sometimes when I turn it off I burn my fingers on the heads. probably would of bought the one with the reserve on it if Pingel would've said that it could be "modified" to fit on the GSXR.
I would've brought it to you to look at http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

thanks to al that answer I ended up getting a pingel... will be putting it in tomorrow afternoon... I have no clue if ir was reserve or not I wil have to see the valve when I go home tomorrow... but I believe the only one availble for GSXR's was a dual outlet one.... no sure. once i get mine install I will give you guys my two cents... Once again thanks for the advise..

whether or not it has reserve, it will still have dual-outlets. The carb-rack requires two fuel-feed lines, and both outlets function in the "on" position as well as "reserve". The "reserve" position just allows fuel to be drained lower down in the tank on the petcock fitted with reserve.

i had to use a dremel to open up the tank opening a little where the screen on the pingle slides in. it was hitting and not letting the mounting plate sit flat creating a very small drip. other than that and a couple of tries getting the position right works great. no reserve and it also is tight to reach in to get. i thought of trying to find a piece of brass rod that would fit over the lever, making a small extension for it. haven't got that far yet.
