quick question for any of the big bore guys out there running 39's.....did you guys have any problems making them fit into 38's even though there is a 1-2mm gap between bottoming out and the carb boot?...just inquiring before i put smaller clamps on the intake boots...thx

Ok well if you are dealing with a 93-95 GSXR 750W or a 1993-1998 GSXR1100W then the Keihin FCR's have to be SideDrafts not DownDrafts....... the DownDrafts only work on the 96-97 GSXR750.

if he's got downdrafts stuffed in there, he's gonna have one hell of a time jetting them.

if you have a set that originally were purchased for a 750 and the spigots have not been changed, then you should not have a problem...but if you have a set that was purchased for an 1100 and those spigots have not been changed, then you will need to change them...it's simple, all you have to do is screw the old spigots out and replace them with a fresh new set that has the right size o.d....i'm also assuming that you have a 750 but if you don't then all that was said above should be reversed...if you need help getting the right spigots or any questions, please feel free to contact us at the shop...thanks!!!

i got these fcr's from one of the guys at the shop before he sold the bike.......93 750....i rode the bike when he had the fcr's in and it responded well.....he sold the fcr's to me....to tell you guys the truth...he said downdrafts...so did the local mechanic we all have....oh well....sidedraft/downdraft......before i slam them into the 38mm intake boots....should they be snug in there or can there be some gap between the boots and the inlets of the fcr's or should they be all the way in?

You must have the boots sealed well around the carb-bodies... no leaks at all... if you don't it will never run right. If you get a solid seal, I don't think gaps matter... but remember that those rubber-boots move around a LOT while the engine is running, and even a tiny leak will create a shitty-running condition.
