: Concealed Carry

For all the concealed carriers out there, what do you carry? I've always carried micro guns (ie. Kel-tec .380, Kahr PM-9 & PM-40) but have recently been carrying full size guns. I recently started carrying a Glock 21SF. It is the gun I shoot the most accurate with and it holds 13+1 (I also carry a back-up mag with 15 rounds.) Due to it being winter it is pretty easy to conceal at work. In the summer I'll probably switch back to my Glock-30 and Glock 27. So what's your flavor????

Glock 22 or Sig 220 - Both tweaked.

Moved away from HK USP compact due to the sidearm being too complex.

Is that the Ti/scandium 38/.357 model (I can't remember the model number--I just sold mine.) That thing was a beast to shoot! But it was weightless and small. My P3AT is lighter and narrower overall but I'd much rather have .38/.357 than a .380. Nice piece.

Here is the one I had. The 340PD. Actually bruised my hand after 50 rounds.

Only 12 ozs unloaded.

This is the one I have, the S&W 329PD .44mag. If you think the .357 is bad, you should try this thing. I can't shoot it with the wood grips, I had to put the rubber ones on because it would almost break my hand....and I shoot big guns all the time. It literally turned my hand black and blue. Imagine laying your hand on top of an anvil and hitting it with a hammer, that is what it's like. I have a .454 casull and a 30-06 LoneEagle pistol that does not hurt half as bad as this thing.

WAS a Charter Arms .38spl. It broke. Now I am not sure what it will be. Either a compact 9mm (probably Taurs MIllenium, or another Kel Tec) or a .357mag revolver.

Nighthawk Custom 1911 - Enforcer model..

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1507/092608e950fk3.jpg

The frame is pretty neat, it is a caspian frame that has an integrated plunger tube(normally staked on which can fall off) and the magwell is part of the frame as well.

I had them change a couple of things and they were happy to build the gun to my specs..

No barrel bushing, fitted a bull barrel, no front cocking serrations, deleted roll marks/naked slide. Mil-tac G10 grips, 20 Lpi front strap chekering, serrated the top of the slide, had the rear of the slide serrated to match my Heinie pro-slant Straight 8 night sights. Almost forgot, had them send the gun off to Ionbond to have them apply their Black Diamond(Boron Carbide) treatment, the gun is literally harder than a rock and I have yet to see any wear on the finish.

I don't ever see myself selling this gun, it screams quality and it is a tack driver :D

Florida has the most full reciprocity of any state for concealed carry.

I carry a Kahr PM9 with extended barrel in a Galco Miami classic shoulder rig.

I dont see the ability to carry going anywhere.

But the ability to buy certain new firearms, and afford ammo may.

Eitehr way, the permits will be on their way soon :banana

Dont need one. GAs covers me in FL, and all the states around except SC (fl doesnt cover SC either.

Usually I carry my S&W .38 sunbby. I live in FL, so I'm usually not dressed to conceal anything much larger. Though I do carry a Glock 19 at times. If you're looking, you can tell I have the glock on me (during the warm months, which is almost all of them), which is why I usually carry my snubby...

Don't be so sure. Obama has gone on record numerous times in his few years in govt saying he is fully opposed to concealed weapon permits. This is going to be an interesting time for gun rights in America and at this point nothing is safe unfortunately so I wouldn't take anything for granted. I'm trying to convince my mom to get hers now even though she doesn't own a gun and is a long-time tree hugging hippie in case she changes her mind down the road. Get it now and hope they don't do anything and if they do hope they grand father those of us in that are already card carrying members.

Exactly why we got them. We often travel to Vegas and our CO permit is not honored there. The FL permit is though and the non-resident FL permit is one of the easiest permits to get in the country. It was substantially easier to get then my CO one was and I'm a resident here. Might have helped that I had existing CCW copies to send to FL but it was still a cake walk. Now we can carry in Vegas legally when we go out for a weekend.

Glock 29 10mm Auto. Love it, but I had to buy a grip extension as the regular grip was too stubby to get a good hold on for accurate shooting.

We in Canada gave up our right to defend ourselves with out even knowing it was going to happen.

That's just it, we're in that position right now and nobody seems to realize it and if you try to tell them they look at you like you're crazy but once it's gone those people will say the exact same thing you just said.

I'm with you and have been convincing alot of friends and family to get their concealed carry permits. But if and when there is/was a ban on concealed carry (which as you said is a possibility) your permit would only be good until it expired and then they'd probably simply not let you renew it. I'm not sure how long your permits are good for but here in Michigan, they're good for 5 years. I have 3 years left on mine so lets say they banned it next year, 2 years down the road they'd probably just not renew mine.

(But not a damned thing would 'change'. I refuse to be a sitting duck.)

I'm trying to convince everyone I know in a non-pressuring non-crazy gun nut sort of manner. The more licensed individuals we have in this country the harder it will be to take it away.

(But not a damned thing would 'change'. I refuse to be a sitting duck.)

I couldn't agree more. Permit or not I'm not ignorant enough to convince myself that it wouldn't happen or trust my life to someone else.

some people need weapons. especially if you live in areas like montana where there is almost no one. you need it to protect yourself against wildlife more than self defense against other people. definatly a violation of rights if you think about it like that.

I live in a remote part of the country, and even I consider humans much more dangerous than most wild animals. But yeah, there isn't much for crime here overall.

As for the wildlife that lives here, check this out. I took this timber wolf's picture shown below off a video I shot from my treestand last fall. And the video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7-M6uPACDA

Agreed. I live in the foothills of Colorado and am FAR more worried about my fellow man than wildlife. At least when you see a cougar/wolf/bear you know to avoid it.

Most of the time, wild animals will have seen, heard or smelled a human and "gotten out of Dodge" well before the human gets too close. And the person will never even know any animal was there other than tracks or other scat.

And that's fine with me, especially with animals that can eat me!

Click this link (http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/license/forms.html).

Then fill out your full name and address. In the drop down box choose 'Concealed Weapon or Firearms Application' and put 1 for quantity.

I don't think anything is needed for the 'K' section.

This link (http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/weapons/apply.html) will tell you what all is needed and what the process is.

I don't know if you have some insider info., but I wouldn't hold my breath on that XDm-45. As far as I've been able to find, Springfield Armory currently has no plans on making the XDm in .45ACP. I bet it would be atleast 6 months to a year before they decided anything about the idea.
