Do you guys ditch your seering dampner's when your building your streetfighters? Do you notice much of a difference without it?

It is a prefrence thing. I will not ride without a dampner. I only ride short wheelbase 88-90 GSXR's though. The lomgre the wheelbase the less headshake.

If you put some MX bars on it then you don't need a steering damper , cause the bars are so wide you have plenty of leverage to control things with.

If you keep the clip on's then keep the damper.

The damper always takes away the "wild" and "out of control" feeling from a short wheel base bike with plenty of mumbo.

I run one on my 02 1K but not on the 01 1K fighter.

If you think tat MX bar give you enough leverage to control a tankslaper my hats off to you. It usualy taks just a couple of lock to locks before the bike spits you off and on a short wheelbase bike its even worse. I love the Scotts and I am trying to figure out a way to rig it to my hybrid bikes.
