I would like to put a gsxr 750 engine in my '94 katana (currently with a 600). Does anyone know which years 750's would be a direct fit?

Thanks for the quick response! Now to my second question. Once I've found a 750 engine for sale is there some way to verify that it is what the person says it is (like a VIN number on a car)? It will most likely be a long distance purchase so I won't get the chance to personally inspect it before I buy.

the easiest way to tell the difference is the color, a Katana engine is a different color than the GSXR engine..... also note that the 88-89 GSXR 750 motors were 748cc instead of 749cc. There are more aftermarket parts available for the 749cc engine too.......

Isn't the Katana engine more of a shiny black compared to the GSXR engine?
