: CBR 600 fighter teaser (almost done)
skidmark 11-09-2003, 06:37 AM I got almost all the parts back from the painters. They didn't prep the two side tail fairings properly so they're getting redone. I'm really happy that they were able to paint the UFO headlights for me. We didn't know if it would take, but it's great and flexes no problem (It's a metallic silver). I spent a grueling Friday and Saturday blacking out the frame and swingarm with glossy-bedliner coating. The frame was pretty crunchy before so painting it would have shown all the imperfactions, so I went with a rough look... and it looks pretty hardcore in person. Trust me, it was the only way to go with this frame...
Last night I modded a Hurricane radiator to fit with ease and was even able to slip in a mesh grill cover under the plastic clip on cover. I just need to get the tail back, re-cover the seat in nice black leather and get some turn signals going. Then a new clutch pack, shine up the exhaust, and I'm ready to fight the streets!!! I'm thinkig of maby a white seat... we'll see...
Obviously more needs to be done too, front fender, horn relocation, more cosmetic shit, etc...
Not bad for a bike that I built 100% from junkyard parts and got totaled stunting... no more stunting now though, priorities have changed for this ride http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I'm gonna call her Rhino, since that's pretty much what the frame is coated in http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

skidmark 11-10-2003, 11:13 AM Got the tail back today http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif
I think tomorrow I'll see if I can find some leather for the seat, nice black... It's so close to being done I can smell the exhaust fumes http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/burnout.gif
still need front fender, signals, clutch pack, nice bolts for gascap, and other cosmetic things... all minor issues now...

I'm seriously jealous!
soysauce021 11-11-2003, 01:01 AM thats a damn good job. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif What did it cost you to build and rebuild that thing?
skidmark 11-11-2003, 05:22 AM To buy all of tyhe parts and get it on the road cost 1500 Canadian. To rebuild it after the crash cost under 200 bucks... That's what you get when you build a bike yourself. It 'took a lot of time and hard work, which money can't even come close to http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
got the seat done today. Covered it from an old leather jacket from Value Village for 10 bucks. Good leather too http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

CRAZe Inc. 12-16-2003, 03:31 PM Questions, I have an F3 myself.
What forks are those? It appears to have more rake then the stand f3 forks? Do they fit in the stock steering stem without any modifications to the frame? Is that an aftermarket triple tree? What bar is that? And where did you buy the triple tree, bar, and headlight?
Thanks,
PJ
Fireblade_Rider 12-16-2003, 06:05 PM coming alone nicely . I used Rhino on my 86 VFR plastics before I tossed them for the naked look http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

The seat is stock, just covered with a leather jacket from Value Village http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The forks are from a 97 GSXR 750, The triple tree is from a 2002 GSXR 750. The calipers are stock with custom made adaptors to fit the forks. The Axil is a modded 900RR piece with custom made spacers. It took a while to get it all together, but it's a great fit now http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Triple tree from e-bay
forks from a buddy of mine that parted out a bike
bars are Renthal Fatbars with mounts (from a local shop)
Headlights are UFO enduro lights from www.powersportspro.com (http://www.powersportspro.com) (I had them painted silver)
machman 01-30-2004, 05:18 PM That's tight man

So the GSXR 750 triple tree steering head fits in the F2/F3 steering neck? What steering head bearings did you use?
Blink Dog 03-17-2004, 10:36 PM Good creativity!
I especially like that seat.
