Been putting my camera to very frequent use lately. Some of the pictures i've been able to take, especially some processed ones afterwards have been coming out really cool. They make awesome desktops so thought i'd share with the masses in case anyone else likes them. Let's start with Seattle.

now obviously some of these have been shot out the window of an aircraft and most windows have scratches and other inconsistencies which harm the photos. it's annoying, but what can ya do? anyhoo, enjoy the photos.

what camera/lens do you have?
these were taken with a nikon d40x using just the basic kit lenses they come with. 18-55mm and 55-200mm. i don't have a ton of space available for just camera equipment to bring. wish i did!
where is that?
It is in the middle of the indian ocean. about half way between africa and india.
are these HDR at all?
they have that affect. the only HDR is the one of the graffiti under the autobahn overpass. the rest are just tone mapped from a single jpeg photo.

im an aircraft mechanic and travel with the jet to make sure it stays safe for flight. lots of flying, but the time off work makes it worth it. especially when you have a passion for photography.

glad everyone like the pictures. i love the one of the beach too and use it as my desktop at the moment.

1. Those are some bad ass pics.
2. Do you do your editing in Photoshop? or is there another program you use?
3. Do you get paid to travel with the plane?
4. Are you all hiring! LOL I wish i could work on planes and travel everywhere like you do.

Im definitely envious. The last pic reminds me of when i went to the Bahamas, and how clear and blue the ocean is there. But you have some really nice pics.:punk

you should look into making panoramic shots. I got the program 'pfactory' and LOVE it. I just wish I would have taken more pan's when I was traveling. Awesome shots bro. Keep up the good work.

i use a few things, either cs3 or lightroom, and a high dynamic range program. yes i am getting paid while working. if it involves traveling, even better :-)

nice editing. i don't mind.

glad you guys like the photos. this is what i enjoy doing in my off-time. taking and making photos like these. thanks for the all the positive feedback. ill keep at it in the future.

the camera can be had for about $450 brand new. it's all up to you though how much you are willing to learn to be able to take good photographs. just purchasing an expensive camera doesn't mean the pictures just automatically turn out great. it really takes alot of practice. if it's something you're passionate about... do it. if not, i would stick with a good point & shoot camera that does all the work for you.
