at the crank. how many of us ride around with the exposed end of the crankshaft propelling the bike?

I'm hearing from a good source 130 - 135hp at the rear wheel for the 750. Haven't heard about the 600

I was wondering what the HP rating was for last years model. Is it a big jump for '03 to '04? Thanks for your help and all of you have a good day.

I would bet no more than 125 on a dialed in dyno 250. Most of them now are putting down 116-120 on the shops dyno. the little improvements that they made aren't going to add up to much. Hopefully I'm wrong, but other bikes with similair updates only produce a few more ponies, and it's usually up top.

Any idea what the 600 will have at the wheel?

With the lighter valves and what not the power increase should be across the board unless they messed with cam timing a bit.

Lighter motor parts are not going to really give this motor (GSXR) much of a peak HP increase. What they will do though is allow the bike to redline higher and spin up quicker, possible more rpm per say at lower rpms.

Peak HP gains will come from changes to the FI system, compression amount, angle of the valves, etc.

I expect the 600 to be about 105, on par with the new other 600.
The 750 to have the same increment of increase maybe 3-5hp, at most.

The power increase the 00 GSXR750 got over the SRAD750 design motor, is what I would expect for the new bikes (not much). But where the power is will change.

good prediction.

m4 dyno'd their '04 600 at 103.2 hp. nothing earth shattering. the power gains appear to be over the entire rpm range compared to the 'previous' generation 600.

They also tested their 03 1000 to have 143.9 stock and as we all know they have either 150 or very close to it. So what does this mean to me? Their dyno reads slightly low and the 04 600's hopefully will have a little more HP than they tested stock, possibly 106-107.

the 600 is gonna be bad ass bike for track lovers...
