Since alot of people seem to be doing 600 to 750 fork swaps, i decided i would post a write up for anyone who needs it. I didnt replace my forks with 750 ones (just better 600 ones, mine were bent) but its all the same for the most part. So here we goooo.......

Tools needed.

10 and 12 mm socketts (a small exstension is nice)
jack (i got one from my car) small 2by4 and some sort of weight
u will need a 32mm for the top stem nut, but i just used a huge ass crecent wrench i had
same for the front tire ( u should have this size in your tool kit ) or u can use a 1 1/16 inch socket ( i didnt have any big mm sizes) and yes it does work!!!!
maybe a lil wd40
and allen wrench for fairing screws

Lets get started....

I would recomend doing this on some nice flat conrete, though u can always get by.

First thing to do is remove your farings. You need to remove the front and sides ( u might not need to remove the sides, but they will just get in your way)

Now, we need to get our baby supported off the ground. I just used my jack from my car, and a scrap 2by4. Put the 2by4 under the headers and jack it up enough so the tire is about 1 inch off the ground.

Now the bike will want to rock back and forth some, so i just got me 25lb dumbell (anything with some weight will do) and put it in the trunk.

now u need to get the brake calipers off, and unhook the lines from the faring above the tire. U just need to pull the plastic tabs out from it.

http://images4.fotki.com/v43/photos/1/115463/429952/Set32_01-vi.jpg

and pull them out of the side hook (left side facing)

http://images4.fotki.com/v42/photos/1/115463/429952/Set32_02-vi.jpg

now undo the clamp and hook on the lower tripple

http://images4.fotki.com/v43/photos/1/115463/429952/Set33_02-vi.jpg

undo the bolts holden the calipers on, and then pull them out from the tire. I would reccomend setting them on a bucket, thought u can just let them hang (but that some stress on the lines)

http://images4.fotki.com/v43/photos/1/115463/429952/Set33_01-vi.jpg

now undo the left side (facing) pinch bolts and undo the axle bolt.
now u need to raise the faring up from the tire

http://images4.fotki.com/v43/photos/1/115463/429952/Set32_03-vi.jpg

and roll the tire out. Then u need to play with the faring a lil to get it to come out, just take your time or u will scratch it up some!!

ok.. we are now ready to get them forks and tripple out..

If your doing the 750 swap.. u can probably just skip this part and just undo the tripple. But the bike will need to be higer up off the ground.

U got 2 bolts on the top tripple, 2 bolts on the clip ons, and 4 bolts on the lower tripple. I would say undo the brake resvoir as its in the way on one of the bolts.

dont forget about the bolt under the top tipple holden the clipon to it. This is so u can get them back to the same spot as before.

Now with a twisting motion twist the fork tube (the top part, dont twist on the bottom to much) back n forth. It may take alot of effort to get it to come down. If u need to, get something to hit the top of the tube with, but make sure its not going to nick the top (unless u dont care) . Also, some wd40 can help with this. just dont get it so soaked that u can twist on the tube.

Do the same for the other side. And now on to the tripple

Undo the top bolt (32mm or crecent wrench will work) and pull it off. Make sure u got the 2 bolts holden the clipon on to it undone. Just set it aside, or u can undo the wire for the igniton, though its not needed.

Now undo the 2 nuts holden the top triple in. I used a pipe wrench. U can buy a tool, make one, or use whatever u can think of.

there is a washer in between, note how it has a slot in it.

http://images4.fotki.com/v42/photos/1/115463/429952/Set38_02-vi.jpg

make sure u hold to the bottom of the tripple or it might just fall out to the ground when u get the second one off. and then just slide her out.

There are 2 dust seals on the top and the bearing is underneath.

i also suggest getting new bearings. The stock ones are kinda crappy. I got some from All Balls. Here is the dif u decide.

There is also a dust seal on the bottom. The bottom bearing inner race is a bitch to get off, and u will need a bearing puller. Or if ur doing the 750 one, u wont need to do it.

The bearings have an outer sleeve to that u will need to take out if u put new bearings in.

Now just reverse for install. One other thing

My new forks i had to swap the right side (facing) sleeve that the axle goes into.

u gota undo the pinch bolts to get it out.

here she is finished

And there ya goo.

here is what my old fork looked like. does this seem bent to u.

I took the bike out after words, though it was quite cold. The new forks i got have 1.0 heavier springs and racetech gold valve inserts. I havent adjusted them yet for me, but man they felt great. It was sooo much smother, and it went straight (fork bent before). http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif
It was really smoth at high speed above 100. It gave good feeback to the road, but yet wasnt bouncen up or down anyway. I ll post up more when i get them all dialed in and have a nice day to go out.
