Just a proud moment... I completely disassembled and reassembled my USD forks by myself, without a vice, and without any special tools! First time doing forks too.
I got by with two punches (taking the place of the spring compressor), a 13mm bicycle box wrench (taking the place of the locknut plate), a zip tie & a ruler taking the place of any specialized fluid measuring tools, and a combination of duct tape, zip ties, and bungee cords taking the place of a helper!
Actually - my girlfriend helped me with the first one... holding the damping rod up and placing the box wrench under the locknut while i compressed the spring. But the 2nd one I did by myself... holding the damping rod up with duct tape and/or bungee cords, and inserting the box wrench with my teeth! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I'll tell you this... .95 springs are a bitch.
