can someone tell me how to tell if your bike is a k1 k2...etc. I just bought a 2003 gixxer 600 and am looking to replace the sprocket and chain and lots of places ask for what "k" mine is. Does it even make a difference?

k is the year. 2003 would be a k3. simple as that.

hmm...i honestly thought it was that, but one website had a list of for 2003 gixxers:

k1 2003
k2 2003
k3 ..
k4 ....

any suggestions for sprocket chain kit brands? i dont' think i wanna mess with the gearing just yet..
