You'll find this question has been asked quite a few times before. In the end you'll find it's personal preference, period (whether it's brand or type... or weight for that matter)

Here's a few threads that I found searching though if you're still interested...

Regular conventional Spectro 4 10w-40 for both bikes, not planning to switch to synthetic, no problems using it at all.

Personally, I found in the past that J-force’s K-lube is the best. It really cuts down the losses due to internal friction and there’s not a lot of windage loss. Be careful you don't blow your wad using it.

I just eat Taco Bell and spray crap in my oil fill.

I started using hte Palo-Force 4.1 and on the dyno saw 1.2hp gain most likely due to less friction.

What brand oil though isn't as important as making sure you change it and the filter regularly. At least imo.

Do you carry the Palo-Force? I tried it once but it made my exhaust smell like a wet fart.

How long have you been running the Rotella Synthetic? Based on a lot of positive testimony on the internet (and no negative I could find) I've been running it in both my bikes for the past 3 years. It seems to work fine but I have not had an oil analysis done yet to see how it's holding up. One of the main reasons I use it is that I don't accumulate a lot of miles per year on my bikes and so the oil stays in there for awhile. The TBI (total base index) is very high which means it buffers acids quite well. I change at 3000 miles.

yeah i wanted a little thicker oil for the tranny, I have always run thicker oil in my bikes and truck and nice to know that the oil isn`t like water when it gets hot:biggrin , and from what i read on motorex website it the same stuff yoshimura suzuki uses, and i ride my bike 6 days a week just the little extra protection:burnout

are you sure about this??? i read and know that nascars run like 10w 30 and to qualify they run like straight 10 because of less drag. i could not see a racing sport bikr run 60 weight oil. even formula one cars i heard run at the highest 20w 50 but some go with 0w 40. and those cars run up to like 21,000rpm's

I use Belray 5W-60 fully synthetic race oil.
It's a great oil for running in hot temperatures (track conditions), or where the clutch is put on alot og pressure.

People who always have clutch slip peoblems should try it.

I used to like and use Castrol alot, I just use Belray now.

another vote for Rotella. 5 years of racing, 3 racebikes with Supersport motors and many of us won't run anything else.

I do run the Synthetic, but the Dino is very goo too and SUPER cheap.
