I have several deep scratches on the side of my swingarm. I have searched the web on techniques on how to repair or replicate a brushed aluminum finish but found very little on the subject. I have sanded the scratches smooth and cleaned with aluminum polish. The repaired area is very noticeable and looks out of place. Does anybody have any experience with aluminum finishing?

I think I might of heard about something like that before. I was watching two wheeled tuesday on speedvision and they had a HD Nighttrain custom they were building and they talked about "scotchbrighting" the aluminum surface, etc. You might want to look into that. I don't think there is a way to replicated what the factory did. I would just polish it if I were you.
