As I said in the other post, I'm in the same boat as Baldy. My questions are as follows: Do the fork bottoms of the 03s bolt up to an 01? Are there any cheaper ones (that do work) than what EMA sells? $1000 is steep. If not, do the 03 fork tubes fit in the 01 triples? If not, I'm assuming the 03 triples bolt up to the 01 frame. Thanks for any help.

The 03 forks will slide right into the 01-02 triples. I am not sure about the fork bottoms and there is nothing cheap out there so get a radial mount design yet unless you want to purchase the bracket that will do that, they are about $400 or so for the set I think.

The 03 forks bolt up to a 01/02 bike with no problem.. The only differance you have is that you have to get 300mm brake rotors instead of the 320mm that are on the 01/02 bikes. Other than that there is no differance in them for fitment wise. I have swapped forks with my race partner a few times so that one or the other can race after something happened..

I've read the Showas on the 750 are superior to KYB's on the '01/'02 1000's. Does this apply to the K3, as well. If so, does the K3 radial-mount upgrade make the upgrade to '03 forks/brakes more advantageous than the better performing Showas? Thanks.

I looked into putting the (far superior) showa cartridges into the 01 1K forks and it is not a bolt in operation, compression bolt size is different among other things and the cartridge designs are quite different here.
Don't know about the 03 interchangability but the size of the compression assembly bolt will tell alot.
