I am currently running 7100 in my K7 1000. In the past I was told that 300V was for racing applications and broke down fairly quick, which is why I went with the 7100. Today I went down to the local specialty motorcycle shop (Mach 1, for those that know it) and I was talking to them about what to run etc. They recommended the 300V, saying it would be better for the clutch and possibly a little bit longer between oil changes. Since they are both "full synthetic" I was wondering what the difference is, besides the 300V being more expensive? Should I switch to the 300V or stick with the 7100? And can you switch back and forth between the two Thanks for any help and advise.

i run a mixture. i run 2 quarts motul 300v and 1 quart motul 5100. motul does claim better wet clutch protection with the 300v. whether its true or not...or if motul just wants to sell a 16 dollar quart...
