when they are worn out. you will notice wear indicator bars in the tread of your tire. when the main part of the tire is equal to that wear bar they are done. there are many factors which can lead a tire to be done before that, but it requires your own judgement. and if you dont trust your own judgement then post up a picture of your tires and let us tell ya. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

My stock dunlop 207's made it about 5000 miles for the back and about 6500 for the fronts. I would replace them as soon as possible if you like to do anything that invloves turning. The stock tires just dont have the grip.

mine lasted 2300 miles, but that was because i got a nail in the rear tire, so i replaced them with pilot sports, they seem to be alot better tire for my bike than the dunlops, they are alot stickier, and they give really good feedback.

its stupid but i've went to the point on my dunlops till i saw white cord, and my pirellies till i saw metal wiring. so don't go to that point. once you see it starting to seperate and show it guts don't ride on them. have tires for the bike ready before that. and u can get a ticket if you get caught if they are worn to bad.

When you feel they have sufficient enough wear to warrant replacing them.

I like to change the rear tire when it starts getting that pronounced flat spot in the center. It bugs me and I can feel it when I am going through quick left-right-left turns or visa-versa. I like to feel the bike roll over on the tire, but that is just me. That is probably the thing I am most picky about with my bike.

I change the front tire ever other rear tire, usually, except in the hot months the front tire will wear faster.

You were worried about a ticket of all things. I think at 100mph or so a ticket is the last thing I would be worrying about with a worn out tire. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

mine have 1800 miles on them, and they're pretty close to being toast. i hate those stock tires, anyway. i hate them even more now that they slid and caused me to lowside at deal's gap. i guess they're fine, unless you actually push them hard...but then, what did i buy a gsx-r for? not interstate cruising!
