Am I missing it or something? Why does Puig not make the Z Racing double bubble screen for K7 1Ks?? :scratch

MotoMummy

They came out in 08. If you notice all the z screens are for 08 model bikes only. 08 NEW model bikes I should say.

Ok, thanks. I realized those were released in '08, but figured they'd make the Z Racing series for others. O'well, guess it'll just have to be the regular Double Bubble for my K7. Expect my order soon. Thanks for the response!

i wish they made them backwards, but imagine the machining involved inthat and r&d and also the older screens get the less they sell. It's the same reason that gilles didn't go backwards for their vcr rearsets, yoshimura's r77 exhaust, and many more products. Just not worth retooling everything for models that dont' sell as well. I wish they would, but I understand why they don't. Sorry for the bad news...

Oh and BTW, this thread still helps out, since my g/f just traded up to a K8 600!!!

Any idea about Gilles chain adjusters for the 08's? Had them on my 05 and loved them, need a set for my 08.

Corey.

Any idea when the Spiegler Front/Rear Brake Lines will be available for us? Also, the clutch line, when you get a chance.

Thanks.

Oops, looking at the site again. I see the front/rear brake lines. So, I'm just wondering about the clutch line, thanks.

Any word on the Spiegler LSL frame sliders for the k8 600? I see on their site they have them listed for the 06 but no 08. Whether they are out yet or not will determine if I go that route or go with the Evotech no cuts. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. :)

We don't have 100% confirmation yet. Wish we did, but if it's like the evotech there will be a slight redesign. At this time I would recommend the evotech for no cuts as they are designed for that exactly bike and not the same as the 06-07. We are hoping to hear from LSL that they have them for the 08, but it could be a month or two to be 100% honest.

The LSLs are already out. My girl already ordered some for her K8 600, should be here anyday now!! Seen'em on a K8 750 too, and they look pretty trick. Pretty neat how they came up with the idea for install for no-cut.

No slider should be mounted to an engine cover EVER. I love their sliders. but the no cuts for the 06-07 GSXR 600/750 were absolutely horrible. You don't use screws that small to hold a frame slider on and if you have a problem are you going to retap all the screws that go into your engine casings? their cut sliders are awesome, the no cuts for that bike I just can't recommend...

the no cuts for the 08 are the same for the 06-07 GSXR 600/750 and we don't list them as they are not the best design by any means imo...for the above mentioned reasons.

I tried to order a Z racing screen form my local dealer(only because I have a $300 in store credit) and they claim the 08 GSXR750 screen is on back order and they dont know when they will come in. Do you guys stock them?

MotoMummy

of course we do and we order them in huge quantities :)

Hmmm.. :scratch Now you got me worried a bit. I'll have to make sure the g/f sees this thread, especially before we mount the LSLs. Personally not a fan of the looks of the Evotechs, but now that you said what you said, makes sense.

Any idea if / when any fender eliminators will come in? Want to get some sliders and would rather get the FE at the same time to save on shipping costs.

Thanks for the info...I guess I will return mine. Lack of knowledge on my part, someone at the dealership recomended them & I went with them. What DO suggest as far as no cuts go then?

Hey Mel, I sent you an e-mail with some links regarding those sliders you have, but I know you can't read it til later. I agree with MotoMummy, maybe these LSLs aren't the best idea, as there is another reason in the e-mail. Or at least a different explaination.

lsl's are awesome, just not the no cut ones for this bike. The cut ones are GREAT!!!

I personally for no cut only know of the evotech's right now and we have those for sale and are going through them like candy. The lsl's are a great frame slider, but only the cut models for this bike. The no cut models for this bike i completely disagree with.

I read somewhere on this forum that the Woodcraft cut sliders require cutting on both left AND right sides.. Is that true?

MotoMummy

yes the woodcrafts do...

Thanks MotoMummy for the advice on the sliders, I think she (Captain M) is going back and forth on what to do, and she really wants to get some protection on there ASAP!! We have the "Cut" LSLs already here at the house, but I think she really doesn't want to cut the fairings, but she doesn't really like the Evotechs as of right now. We'll see what she goes with though. ;)

Is that because they are shorter? If thats the case , I think those are the ones I want. I don't need sliders that are a mile long.

I'm not cutting them...period. If the Evos are the way to go, then I'll go that way...think I'm just gonna return the LSL's. Sick of waiting on an answer from them!

i'm not sure what ou mean why do i like them so much? The same reason i like lsl, woodcraft, they are just good quality and it's a solid design?

Will you be selling graves exhaust?

MotoMummy

Not at this time and for suzuki's I would recommend other exhausts. for a yamaha I would recommend a graves, but that's about it.

Definitely not trying to step on MotoMummy's toes, cause I dont think they sell em, but take a look at the Shogun No Cut Sliders for K8 6/750. Pretty happy with them myself, but nothing will ever protect like a cut kit.
