: How hot should it run? 01 600 Integlikewhoa 10-07-2003, 08:45 AM 2001 600 how hot should it hit whats normal. At a long light i have seen it hit about 217 and freeway it runs about 165-170. I have never heard the fan come on. Is this right or to high? The coolent is on the left of the bike correct behind the faring? How do i fill? and with what water and antifreeze? Thanks you da man 10-07-2003, 10:01 AM Fan should come on at 219-220 degrees. Mine always comes on at 219. At highway speeds with air temps anywhere from 75-100 degrees my bike runs at 171-175 degrees. In the summer in stop and go traffic, not uncommon for the bike to hit 225-230 degrees...but this is Texas with the heat index at about 110-120 degrees on really bad days. I wouldn't worry about it, you should be fine.
