Just wondering, if someone wanted to park mayb 50K in an investment vehicle other than a CD of some sort?

What would be the easiest position to manage that would yield better returns than what you would get out of most savings accounts?

I am asking for my grandfather, who currently has money parked in a savings account that will yield 3.25 poins for this year.

Obviously this is would need to be a postion not requiring sedrious managemnt?

Depending on how risky you want to be with it, i would say an index mutual fund would be the way to go, Mutual funds will diversify you better than most people can do themselves, and an index fund specifically will have low Management Fee's. Another option would be money market accounts, which are generally low risk.

Good luck.

EDIT - Forrest, i just realized you are from Chi, I grew up out in the Northwest suburbs in Roselle (right next to Schaumburg) What do you think about the Cubbies this year? :)

Self-Storage. Rv & Boat Storage.

They require large up front capital, but have about double the Cap rate as normal apartment units. PM me if you are interesting in learning more.
