Ok, So I'm on the freeway today and just cruisin about 75mph when all of a sudden my bike starts jolting and spuddering. I'm like "wtf?!?" I have no idea whats goin on, then it just shuts off. So I pull off the freeway and coast into a Burger King. Now I'm swearing up a storm under my breath cause I don't know what is goin on. The tach is stuck at 11krmp and I keep fliping the key on and off but nothing comes on, no headlight, no tach sweep, nothing! So i'm think ok, no power, blown fuse? Check the fuses all good. At this point I'm really freakin out cause I only have about 20min of sunlight left, i'm 30min from home and none of my friends have trunks. sounds strange. ive never heard of that one before.

Did you check the connector to your ignition switch?

Now I haven't changed the battery or removed the battery since i bought the bike 6mo ago. Luckly I just decided to pull the seat and check the fuse under there. Low and behold my neg terminal was just chillin http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif just kind like "hey...yeah know, i don't really feal like being connected right now" So i wiped out the screwdriver and put that bish back on there http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif. So kudos to you Hammer you're the lucky winner of a pat on the back.

I am surprised your tach was stuck on 11k if the neg cable came off. Seems like you should have had a needle at zero. Hey atleast you solved the problem.
