I just installed the TRE on my 2002 750. I didn't notice much of a difference in performance. I understand that the gain is minimal and that's O.K. but now my neutral light doesn't work. Is this normal?

Did you cut or damage the "Blue wire". Must never cut the blue wire.

No, I didn't cut any wires. It is just a plug in model. It has 3 wires. The only thing I don't like is no neutral light and I can't start the bike with the kick stand down.

Unplug it and see if it still happens. It sounds like a totally different problem.

Definitely sounds like the blue wire. If you take the TRE off measure resistance from connector to connector (on the TRE) where the blue wire would plug in on each. It should be 0 ohms.

When you pulled the connector apart on the bike did you grab it by the wires? Could have pulled the wire out of the spade or lug in one of the connector.

I noticed the same thing on my 01 750 race bike when I installed a TRE. I was told you must bypass the TRE for the green wire. Will check into that this weekend.

Yes, please let us know, as I've ordered a TRE for my 2001 750 as well.

Thanks,

Hmmm, I did the cheap hard wired 25 cent resistor for the TRE, no neutral light problems. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Something is wrong. I have a plug-in version and have a neutral light and always start the bike with the kickstand down.

I put a TRE on my 01 750 and have had no problems... it works pretty well a little better performance...and actually better gas mileage with it too... you must have gotten a bad one...

I found the problem. I bought the TRE from a guy on the forum and when I went to wiggle the connector to make sure I had a good connection, all 3 wores pulled right out. I need to get one from JSD. I may also try to fix what I have if I can get the pins out of the connector.
