Did you get cut or not cut?

The will mount up to an allen head bolt, aka motor "mount" bolt...On the right side, you can see the bolt w/ the fairing on. Its the exact opposite on the other side but you can't see it..

They should be easy. I've never had them, but I know that they bolt onto the engine bolt, then the bracket, then the slider. Try to search the 06-07 forums. It's almost exactly the same. I think you have those 2 little silver things too, which go on each side on the piece of the frame on the slider bracket to "stabilize" it I'm assuming.

hmm.. i know where the engine bolt is, but i can't figure out where the rest of the wholes line up. or even what one the engine bolt goes in?

On the right side of the bike, with the fairing on, you can see a silver bolt. The fairing has a hole in it, whereto the other side (left) does not. On the right side, that's where the engine bolt is. MAKE SURE IF YOU REMOVE THE BOLT, YOU DO NOT START THE BIKE OR THE ENGINE MAY SHIFT AND YOU WILL HAVE DIFFICULTIES PUTTING THE BOLT BACK IN.

That is the right side bolt. The left side is shown at the exact opposite location, but you will not be able to see it as the fairings cover it.

hmmm, that actually helps a lot. thanks

so it seems like it just mounts on the one bolt right? I thought there may have been another bolt or screw to worry about though?

the only real worry is the drilling needed on the left side...at least on my 600.

He has no-cuts, so no drilling for him..

Only one bolt on each side. The rest of the hardware goes on the slider/bracket itself..

FYI: I saw a post today from a guy who went down with no-cuts and they blamed the hairline cracks in the frame on the leverage the no-cuts created.

that's why I have cut....But depending on how you go down, the outcome will vary. Some people claim that no damage was done to the frame w/ their no-cuts. I guess it all depends on luck.

I just installed my no cuts, and I traced out a rubber mat with a razor to go in between the bracket and the frame. Hopefully this will absorb a bit of energy and save the hairline cracks I have heard about. :cheers

hey sell your's on ebay and buy the no cut.. save your fairing from the drilling.. the "shogun" no cut frame sliders are just as good as the no cut..

You should just use a standard 3/8" rachet to tighten them. They shouldn't be that tight, but use some thread sealer.

^ lol this thread came up in a new search lol. But just to clarify, the bike has been down on both sides now... (don't try to moto GP on a mountain after a storm... and learn how to avoid cars that are coming at you head on in your lane without laying the bike down.... dam.) but they work, only issue I had was that it pop'ed off during the slide, but did its job, no frame damage at all that was somewhere between 40 and 55 (i think closer to 45...)

and avoid animal poop too. went into a turn on FM road and lost it at about 50ish and no frame sliders.. only plastics and brake pedal messed up.. oh and headlight housing and clutch cover and muffler but yeah.. i got lucky on this one.
