gsxrmax 03-15-2001, 11:31 AM Hi all.I have a '90 gsxr1100 with the the first gear that sometimes shifts out by itself.Is it difficult to disassemble the engine and verify the gear?? Someone knows the exact procedures? Thanks all Max ------------------ imported_jeff 03-15-2001, 12:19 PM when first gear shifts out, what does it shift into? could be something as simple as a worn shift cam plate, but more likely bent shift forks and/or worn engagement dogs. you will need to remove the motor from the frame, flip the motor upside down, and unbolt the lower crankcase to expose the transmission. strongly recommend you get a service manual for this, as it will have step by step instructions and pictures as well. ------------------ http://fp.geocities.com/batty718/bike_small.jpg | ||
