Wow I dumped the stock rearset for even more hard core gripping solid pegs.

The issue is not the pegs it is you are wearing the wrong footwear when riding.

Do yourself a favor and get some motorcycle specific riding boots. You do not need to drop $100's on race boots just get a quality pair.

I have a friend you can talk to about riding in shoes as he lost his foot in a low side. The ER doc said if he would of had boots on he would still have a foot.

Smart man.

By the way my buddy was less than a mile from his house when he lost his foot.

They are making some very comfortable riding boots for the street these days. Some you can't even tell they are riding boots.

Sidi Streetburners are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. You dial in the tightness over the instep somewhat like the BOA system for snowboard boots and then velcro tight around your ankles. Extremely cool (has adjustable vents (ram air needed for best cooling) All the areas that might touch pavement are replaceable screwed on abrasion pads. Ankles have their own armor and are also replaceable.

I agree, I love my streetburners. Sidi makes a very good product.

Icon make good sandals to ride in. At least I have seen guys riding around town wearin Icon vests, shorts (icon must make riding shorts also) and cool sandals that I figure are made my Icon also. I think people just try to look to cool for there own good sometimes and end up paying for it. I just met a guy that lost his left foot on a bike, and yep he was wearing shoes, slip on vans of all things.

Love my Oxtar/TCx Jupiter 2's. Pegs feel great, can wear them all day.

I tried some Icon gear before and it was much cheaper, but the fit and longevity of the gear was terrible. The gloves fit so poorly and restricted my ability to brake and clutch quickly. Gave them up and use Dainese now. For the price range, Joe Rocket is a much better product over Icon. Unfortunately, you will not truly find out about fit and ergonimcs until you have riden a bit with your gear. Pay a little extra and take care of your gear and it is always a great investment in your safety.

Yea,

The first time I rode my bike, you know how when you take off sometimes you let your feet hang? Well, I got the end of that spikey foot peg even though I was wearing boots. It is annoying, but I will continue to wear boots....
