Just to give you an update on the post I put out last week. Began pulling the motor to do some trouble shooting as to why the damn thing was smoking so much on deceleration. Didn't take long to figure out which cylinder it was . . . there was oil just all over the exhaust port in #2.

Figured the head needed to come off so dropped the motor. Pulled the head cover off and were trying to figure out where to mark the cam sprockets when my buddy goes, "hey, there are only 3 pair valve couplers in here". We look a little further, and the missing one is sitting right below 1 of the camshafts.

So that's what it was. Where the pair valve goes through the head cover and into the head there are little couplers with O rings to seal it up . . . 1 was off . . . 1 right by the #2 cylinder.

Anyway, just wanted to throw an update out there . . . might help someone out in the future.

Man - I bet you were stoked when you found out it was something so minor (compared with what you were thinking it could be)!
