I was curious about this sending unit. Does it work? or is it not worth the attempt to install one on my bike?
I have a 1100 tank with a 600 wire harness and probably don't have an idiot light on my instrument cluster. Any I deas? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

To se if it works or not, it should be a closed (ground) when there's fuel in the tank (or immersed in water) and it should be an open-circuit when it's dry.

I always thought that the "low fuel-warning" idiot-light was the MOST useless of all of them. So much so, in fact, that I didn't even bother including it when I made up my new LED-dashboard. I mean, that's what the reserve setting on the fuelcock is for, no?

...and you'll have to get the dashboard with the idiot-light in it if you want to use it, nevermind the wiring.

PS - I saw the AMI guys at Spokane this past weekend... did they ever finish your bike?

Hey bobby.. I have an idea.. I guess the extra space on the 600/750's dash is for the low fuel warning? I might be wrong - I dunno. Be cool to mount up a shift light and have it use that space for the flasher! I might just mess around with it. Do you have any experience with shift light modules, etc?

It might be the "extra" space for the low fuel light, maybe they made it to be interchangable with the 1100. The 1100 gas tank has an extra hole on the bottom of it for the sensor.
I was going to tighten up my risers but they are still loose so I'm going back to the original clip ons. I am currently finding a 1100 speedo assy so I'll compare the 600 with the 1100 cluster.
