Reflectors and Fender are all gone now, so it looks real clean and tidy. Have an Evotech Tail Tidy coming and installed a scorpio last night. Probably put some sliders on this weekend.

What dumbfounds me is that some people neglect to see the obvious which is adding a slip on cuts 10-15lbs of crap off of the bike and that stock can is about the ugliest looking can to have ever graced a GSXR ever. Not to mention the sound is greatly improved and the carbon fiber compliments an already all black bike. :hammer

the arguement is that the k8 exhausts are designed longer and better the give more mid and low range power. can you tell the difference? and would you post a dyno cart if you can get one. its a nice exhaust, just not my style

The K8 exhaust is not designed for better low/mid range power...it is for cleaner emissions. I believe the K8's have the cleanest emissions out this year. So the argument I believe for slip-ons are strictly looks and sound. Nothing gained in Hp I agree, but you lose 10-15lbs of dead weight and the sound/look is better. Additionally, 99% of the people who buy a GSXR cannot even presently ride their bike anywhere near it's full potential, let alone adding more ponies. If you have outgrown the K8's potential and need to add more hp, then you need to be signed to a racing team and I am not talking about being some back marker who is constantly getting lapped. So the argument only applies if you have fully outgrown the potential of your K8, otherwise adding more power to something you haven't even unlocked is worthless IMO. Like being stuffed at a buffet and keep piling on the food...it's available, but you are never going to eat it. just my 2 cents.

dietcokaine, the pictures look ace! Good to hear you've removed the reflectors :)

Would be great if you could install a low power/drain night light for the bike when parked which u can switch on and off when parked in a dark area. I parked my kwaker 03 in a street over here in OZ and thought better of it cause the street lighting over herre is so crap.

Now all i need to do is get my bike and find a company that will happily ship a twobros like yours to australia.

PS any pictures with the tail tidy and reflectors moved? any chance of a sound bite too?

oh yeah, a HID kit sounds like a good idea too, another forum post here has a company selling them. No excuse for someone to say they didn't see you!

I want this pipe VERY bad but I am worrying about popping or backfiring. Have you experienced this at all?

Also, did you feel any lost power down low?

Thanks,

Absolutely no problems and it looks to be very sturdy and the carbon fiber is well made. I do not think you should have any backfiring or popping as this is only a slip on and will not affect performance adversely as it will not increase performance either...other than shaving off a good 10-15lbs. What other quick inexpensive solution will shave of that much weight and look good while doing it? Great pipe and DIY install is very easy. Do not tighten any of the bolts fully until the pipe is situated 100%. I have always been a die hard Yosh fan, but for the price the 2 bros looks and sounds really good.

Absolutely no loss in power...in fact the stock can inhibits air flow more than the 2bros due to emissions regulations and such. Throw a K&N air filter in and you will also increase air flow. The biggest thing to remember is that the 2bros saves you 10-15 lbs of dead weight hanging off of your bike and replaces that god awful cancerous growth on your Gixxer.

Where I live if it get's dark enough to need night lights...you do not want to park your bike there. It will be gone in 60 seconds or less. Like a bad vampire movie, but when the sun goes down I need to get the bike indoors and out of sight. My Scorpio alarm is working great and that also was a fairly easy install. The K7 wiring harness plugs in to the K8 and all was needed was taking off the left tail section and splicing the ignition kill switch into the orange ignition wire off of the fuse box under the seat. The i900 reaches my 3rd floor apt and I can hear the perimeter alarm and see the alerts on my pager. Look on ebay for the Evotech tail tidy, very good workmanship and looks nice. I will post picts later in the week.

If that's what you're worried about then just get a pc3 and have it tuned at the same time and you'll be fine. It is a good looking pipe.

Personally the yosh r77 is still my fav by far though.

search on you tube and you will see some vids for sound. Nothing compares to live in person, but youtube will give you somewhat of an idea.

thanx for that heads up dietcokaine- i will be ordering one of those twobros when the bike comes in over here. what price did u get yours for? found it for sale on ebay for 390 + shipping.

how does your bike handle the bumps and ripples in the road? my kwak zx-6r 2003 is a killer, hence getting rid of it

Handles amazing! everything is layed out so well and works so great. Not sure any sportbike handles ripples in the road so well...the suspension is meant for quick rebound to keep the rubber on the road which leads to a harsh ride over a stretch of prolonged bumps. But the steering damper really works great at high speeds over ripples to keep head shake down. I got my pipe at the dealership for $450, but it was a dealer and they have inflated prices. Back to the bike...so light and the power is very manageable. The brakes are really good for stock brake lines and much better than my 2K GSXR 750. Haven't had time to lay the bike over to test cornering, but after I brake the tires in a little more I feel this thing will eat up the turns like crazy. Total strangers are walking up to me and complimenting the looks of the bike...unfortuantely, people are very touchy feely and getting finger prints on my bike. How come people pet bikes and not cars? Never saw someone say "Nice Car" and then proceed to pet it like a dog. Anyway, you are in for a great treat when you get yours.

Thanks, I wish I was so advanced that the stock Gixxer was no longer a challenge and I could quit my job and start to get sponsored.
