what kind of tank protector are you using and the grips on the side of the tank? how much are those side grips anyway and where can i find em?

My tank protector is just a regular Progrip that I'll be replacing soon.

As far as the grip pad, google "STOMPGRIP PAD". The one on my bike was made from a plain sheet since Stompgrip didn't have them available for the 08 yet so I bought the 07 application (closest shape) and worked with it. I put maskign tape all over the tank and got a marker and drew a design on the tape the way I wanted it. I peeled off all the tape in once piece and cut out the template and traced it onto the Stompgrip pad, cut it out, and applied it.

However, I believe Stompgrip has them available for the 08 now. TECHSPEC is another brand you want to consider but their service isn't that great. Lack of communication on their part. I placed an order directly with them and a week later, they haven't even processed something that was in stock. Not only that, they're no NorCal and I'm on SoCal so it shouldn't have taken more than 5 business days to process and ship.

Anyway, besides the point, Techspecs are good too and you can take them off and reapply, but I had such a great experience w/ Stompgrip that I decided to use them again.

BTW, the sheets are about $40 for the pair.

hey norm, the sticker is one piece. a heat gun (or blow dryer) and a little patience and it comes right off. it was MUCH easier than the warning stickers! Get some Goo Gone to clean up the glue. WD40 smells nasty for days but will also work.

Debating between akrapovic or two brothers, and tryin to get a full system to get rid of that smog box. hey guys, Bike came stock like that. I feel it's the classic GSXR look. I bought it from Freedom Cycles in Concord, NH. Post pics in a couple when i get the wheels stripes and with out the mud flap.

hey guys nice bikes. so i was wondering if i could get your input on this dilema of mine. so i got a black k8 600 on a wednesday. been riding it everyday til sunday when i went riding with my friends. then BAM i got rear ended, bike is totaled, but the insurance is going to get me a new bike. so now i dont know if i should stick with the all black or go with the white/silver look.

so i dont know what color to get. i like both color schemes very much but i just cant decide. thanks.

the dealer had swapped out the plastics from a Yellow/Silver from this black one, so it was yellow & black. I liked this color scheme so I picked it up.

It's actually the Joe Rocket carbon fiber helmet, but I think they are the same company so probably the same helmet. The wind noise is average I suppose, I just found it more comfortable and better looking than my old one >: )

That bike is SWEET!!!

it's really easy to swap out plastics. I swapped the white intake covers from the 750 onto my 600 (blue covers). My entire front nose is white now. I planning to swap a couple of other pieces to white as well. I'll post when i find the damn memory card for my camera.

Pray you never go down with those gilles rear sets... Replacement parts are a bitch. I had them on my previous bike and the gear shift lever pivot bolt, completely sheared off... I couldnt even bolt on a replacement lever...

turbo a 600? :dunno:scratch 600 for the track. liter for the strip. stock '08 600 puts down what, like 105hp? my detuned liter puts down 142, and a stock R1 puts down lots more. brings the point why turbo a 600 just to put down what a stock liter does, if even that?

My bike turns fine for its job of getting me back and forth to work and getting me to the track. And it sounds like they aren't twisty riders either. So whats the problem?

I love the LOOK of a lowered bike it does kill the handling.... my first 98 600 i lowered when i first started ridin and then got into drag racing ran a best 11 flat at 120... raised it up to go to a track day and couldnt beleive how much different it handled... also went back to the strip and ran a best 11.01 at 121.... but those bikes look awesome lowered.......

I just can't stand a heavy ass bike so I stayed away from the busa's and zx14's all together. They are like riding a fucking tank! Ha-ha. My K6 1k I had on the other hand was light as fuck. But it got stolen and I decided to start out at the bottom. I definitely could have got an 07 1k for probably a few hundred more than I paid for the 08 600. But then again, if you got a fast ass 600, you got mad bragging rights!

I'm not sure yet about the tri-mode, I will have to do some more research to find out. But that does sound pretty sweet if you could. I just have to make sure I'm getting the amount of fuel and ignition I need in those other modes so I dont blow the bike up.

My next question is why a 600 but you answered that above.

Just baffled by the fact you have taken one of the biggest advantages (handeling) and turned it into a drag bike (essentially making its best point and deficit).

yep. that's another reason I stayed away from both those bikes (that and the insurance, lol). My FZ1 is 440lbs and that's already heavy enough. The gsxr seems light as hell after riding the fz1 for a couple days, or hours.

They were $2090 shipped to my door, i had a m4 slipon before i bough the graves full exaust the difference is night and day for sound/performance there really isent anytihng like a really nice full system. Id recommend getting a full system anyday.

Busa is 485, plus 200 - 685.

LoL, yea I almost did. But, I guess I should clarify a bit. I stripped all the vinyl off mine, so no decals or stickers whatsoever. Also, I think his is the silver scorpion and I have the chameleon. So, maybe I was a bit hasty with the "exact same" comment. But its purdy darn close. :cheers

The output is 8000k. I love them, I went to the icecream stand the other day and I pull up and i hear a little boy scream THAT LIGHT IS BRIGHTTTT DAD!!!!!! lolYeah i was thinking about getting that hid kit from them...You think u can get some night shots ? And I know the 8000k isnt as bright as the 6000k atleast thats what ive been told...Is it alot brighter at night than stock ? Im worried too about the po po too just gives them another reason to mess with me . Have u had any problems ? Thanks once again :biggrin

- Yellow HID headlight bulb
- progrip carbon fiber tank protector (not shown)
- custom fab eliminator kit for plate

Yea that exhaust coupled with the blue GSXR heel plates work very nicely.

Wish I had photoshop program so I could see how it would look on mine. There isnt as much side fairing on the K8 and it might look all wrong? Plus the headlights are very different too...need to get P/Shop aye?

Yea the fairings are slightly different between the k8 n the k6/k7 gixers. But those are different than stock fairings to there racing fairings. but it wouldn't be that hard to photochop it.
