: My 93 750! (Finally!!)
utp216 09-27-2003, 03:03 PM Here is my 93 750. Let me know what you all think. I took it to a local dealer meet today and a guy had the Dynojet dyno that is trailered behind his truck. It pulled 100HP even. I think theres more power to get at in there though!

STABMASTA 09-27-2003, 03:22 PM VERY nice! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
I can't wait til I get mine completed. Did you have the fairings professionally painted? I'm afraid that I'll have to rattle can mine. I dig the black frame too!
utp216 09-27-2003, 05:45 PM Yes - the fairings were painted at an auto body shop over five years ago. I think it was like $400 for the whole bike, including the wheels. The wheels are powder coated silver now, like the frame.
StraightJacketRacing 09-27-2003, 08:02 PM So the frame was powder coated alos? Man, it looks beautiful! How much did the frame cost to have done?
Sharp bike, mate!
utp216 09-27-2003, 09:07 PM Yes - the frame and swinger were both done, along with the subframe. I also did the 93 upper/lower triple trees. I had to use a 95 lower tree so I could get the steering dampner connected. For everything with the wheels it was like $500 or so. The wheels were pretty expensive since they had to power clear them also for durability. The whole thing came out great. I'll have to stip the body to show some of the powercoat.
Thanks!
Jason
StraightJacketRacing 09-27-2003, 09:33 PM Awesome bike! Post more pictures now!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
suprchase 09-27-2003, 09:47 PM Very nice UTP!!!
utp216 09-28-2003, 12:09 AM What do you guys think of mounting some of those short stalk turn signals to the back reflector mounts? I have the rear light intergrated now, but I think I want some amber back there so the cages can see me turning and not run up my ass.. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'll snap a few more pics Sunday if the weather is as nice as it was today here in Baltimore! This thing handles good even with an EO shock on it. I have got to get my Fox rebuild - it's reservoir looks so much nicer!
Kaneda 09-28-2003, 08:35 AM The bike looks great man! I'd throw some short stalks on with the integration I think.. right now I have those little retarded LP flushmounts on that you can't see from 10 feet away (previous owner, I just got my 95 http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) and I'm planning on integrating, but I was worried about it actually being visible.
How did you wire up your integration? Just lead the brake light's pos wire into the turn signals, then to light, or turn signal wire into brake light? I haven't thought a lot about it yet, just don't want to end up wiring it so that my turn signals don't flash when the brakes are on, hehe!

I used one of those trailer hookup boxes. I didn't even have to cut the stock harness side wires. I picked up a new tail light module (the light and it's wiring) on ebay for like $5. I followed the directions Bugman had and got it all working. If I remove the tail I'll snap a pic of it. I suppose I could wire in short stalks with it and have them all blinking, but then I think I'll need a new flasher to handle the extra bulb. I'll check into it. Thanks for your comments!

What do you think of the black painted dual seat tail with a black fender? or just leave the blue on on there? I have to get down to business and get the stickers pealed off the other bodywork and get it painted. My woman wants a ride on this thing since she has to see if assembled now and not in the basement! Jason/Kerrie http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif (I WANT A RIDE!)
jmalkames 09-28-2003, 03:27 PM looks good man, did you just get it done after being apart for a long time?
BusaBrother 09-28-2003, 03:54 PM Nice!

Yup - I hadn't ridden it in over 18 months! It's still just like it used to be. I think I'll always own this thing unless one day I really mangle it up bad.

Bobbychet 09-28-2003, 09:38 PM Bummer! does this meanyou'll have to put the rider pegs back on?
It looks great without them (just give her one ride). http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
Kaneda 09-29-2003, 06:43 AM Thanks, I'll have to figure out exactly what you mean since I haven't used a trailer box before, haha, but that helps. Pictures would be neat http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
On one hand the black tail would set off your frame and swingarm, but they might just make the blue front look kinda out of place. Who knows though, could work as a really nice two-tone look. That's a stumper.

I didn't get that pic yet - but I will post it in a few days when I get the tail back off.

I know.. I know.. Thats the reason I bought the second tail fairings. So I can switch back and forth. Only take a half hour or so to convert it over to the double seater. I have to give her at least one ride or she'll get mad since she waited all this time for the thing to get complete. And having to see the faces she made when the ebay boxes were coming in the mail, etc.
Bobbychet 09-29-2003, 07:53 AM Sounds like my household, I just had the boxes sent to my workplace instead. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I still need to examine those intake valves I called you about. I suppose if there was a problem I would have been a mushroom cloud by now going down the freeway.
BrettsGSXR 10-03-2003, 11:38 PM Sweet bike. I have a 94 and I relocated the rear shock dampner under the seat, kinda cleans things up a bit. Nice paint too.

Bobbychet 10-04-2003, 02:14 AM So are your Carbs stock? I notoiced you still have the stock airbox. And you are running 38mm carbs right?

Bone stock 38mm carbs. Other than the jet kit, etc. I am using a Dynojet stage one right now. I also have a FactoryPro kit in another set of carbs in the basement somewhere http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I do have a little warm engine richness that I need to adjust out, but it's not enough to make me want to remove the carbs and get to it yet. Runs real hard past 1/4 throttle... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

utp216 10-04-2003, 07:18 PM Ok dyno folks. My bike pulled 105.7 HP today at a bike meet on a shiny new Dynojet dyno. I guess the extra 5.7 HP came from somewhere. I have no reference to go to so I can see how this compares to others, etc. How much power are these 750's supposed to make, or how much can they make? Any ideas. There was a shiny new 02/03 750 there with a pipe and power commander that pulled like 130. These motor companies must of done there homework over the last decade or so! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/flipa.gif CBR600F4i only manages 94 HP! I thought they had more power than that!!!
sdr2ent 10-14-2003, 03:12 AM Buddy of mine has a 94 that dynoed at 114 with just jet changes and an old vance and hines pipe. the bike has around 60,000 miles on it.
