Have any of you ridden an 07 and an 08 750? Is there much of a difference in feel (power, torque, handling) or not really. I can get the 07 for $1500 less then the 08 so I am wondering if it is worth it to save the extra 1500 and put a pc3, bmc and a slip on on it or if I should just buy the 08? Any help is appreciated.

Well, how do you feel about the new exhaust on the '08?
Lots of people are already chucking that thing. So if you're gonna be one of them, figure that into the $1500 + $$ for a full aftermarket unless you can find a spare set of '07 headers. :dunno

That is a good point. that is a lot of extra money I don't have because if I did the full exhaust, I am guessing right around $12-1600 then I will need a pcIII. I suppose if I just got an 07 and never rode the 08 I would never know any different lol. I don't like the exhaust on either of the bikes but I know I can find plenty that get rid of the catalytic converter. I think the 07 is for me unless I find a really good deal on an 08 OTD. Is it worth paying extra for the new suspension or not?

I full exhaust does not cost a grand. More like 700-800 online.

Dunno how good the new suspension is. Anyone who is serious about tuning it will chuck the stock internals anyway.

The 06 750 got the hard coating on the fork inner tubes and I think the 07 did as well. The 08 does not have the hard coating. It's standard on the 1000s but I think 06 was the first year it was on the 750. Must be an expensive treatment since they dropped it.

How long do you plan to keep it? An 08 will get you more in a year or two.

The 08 may get me more but I will pay less for the 07 to start with. I am not sure how long I will keep it, depends on if I like it or not lol. This will be my 6th bike. I am selling my k7 1k due to insurance reasons. I know if I am serious about getting the suspension setup then I will have the internals changed out but there is the high and low speed adjustment on them for 08 along with comp and rebound. I guess I will have to see what I can do. I am kinda leaning towards the 07 so I can get a few things for it, a slip-on, frame sliders, double bubble, some new levers and stainless brake lines. If I bought the 08 I wouldn't have the extra money to do that right away.

i never rode a k7 but back when i was shopping around i was tring to make a deal on a k7 but they werent going for that much less then a k8..but what i could tell you so far about the k8 is great.. it dont anything wrong. and its such a nice bike to look at.. also thing about resale value..when k9 comes out in september or around that time ((pics only)) that will make your k7 2 years old.. good luck

That is true. I really don't like the exhaust on the k8 at all, well I don't on the 07 either but at least i would have extra money to solve that problem. The dealer I talked to said 8200 plus tax for the k7 and $1500 more then that for the k8. I will have to see what kind of deal I can get on them both. I am still kinda leaning towards the k7 just because I think it may just be the perfectly balanced bike for me. I guess I have to wait and see if my bike sells first lol
