Dont you just love it, im trying to explain a "sound" on my bike over the net....

Anyway, i have only noticed it recently and it doesnt seem to be getting worse, just more and more annoying......

It only happens around the rev range of 5700-6700.Initiallly i thought it was a fairing scraping on the tyre but after several inspections i cant seem to see anything like that at all. It could me metal scraping but its not really metally (wtf?). To get the sound i go through to third gear and rev it to around 8-9000 then close the throttle and let it wind itself down, as soon as it hits that rev range it there are a couple of non continous "scraping" sounds, as soon as it drops below 5700 it stops. Im pretty sure it happens when im accelarating aswell but i just cant hear it as much. What do you think gsxperts? Oh and i havent been racing or anything like that, its an 02 600 thats looked after pretty well, thanks in advance all:)

hmm. could be a bearing but thats worse case sernario. are you the only owner? how often do you change your oil and what type of oil do you use. couple other quick things would be to take the tank off and just do a overall inspection. if thats ok id do a valve clearance check. just what i would do. dont know if this helps.

thanks for the replies, yeah i am the first, the one and the only owner and person to ever ride the bike. I rolled it out of the dealership so thats why i know it hasnt been thrashed at all....

Its all under warranty still and the serevice is coming up soon so see what happens. As for the oil that is used...whatever the service people put into it, i assume it would have to be something decent as its from the official dealership. If it is bearings could this be caused from me or manufacturing?

I know how dealers love to take my hard earnt money but dont like to offer the warranty as easily, just trying to find out some info before the service, cheers again all:)
