I rode my bike, parked it, did some work on it. pulled it out and got hit by a raindrop. Put her back away.

Came back a few hours later, pulled her out, and suddenly no headlights. The previous owner had a 'shake the wire' kind of problem up front, but had a shop fix it, they rewired the front end headlight wiring he said. I am fairly certain the problem isn't up there anyway because of the symptoms. I've got no high beam indicator either - no power at the switch (hi or lo), and no power at the fuse box, hi or lo. I still have tail, turn, speedo, tach, oil, and neutral lights. I can't read the wiring diagram I have because it's in Adobe and when I zoom in, it's too fuzzy to read what color wires are where http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

Has anyone had a problem like this before? I'm going nuts!! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

If you can even tell me where the hi and lo circuits get power from, it'd be valuable because that seems to be the problem, since those two fuses don't even have power. Blar!

You kinda lost me, can you be more specific? I don't understand how the kill switch is part of the headlight circuit... afaik they aren't. You also didn't have power at the switch and fuse box, and your high beam indicator light wasn't active?

I had that same problem and it turned out to the the plug harness that powers up the headlights abd cluster lights. I cut and buttspliced the yellow wire (12 volt lead) to the headlight wire (orange with red stripe) it has been working ever since. If you look at that plug (it's right by the right front side of the fork) you will notice that on the other side of the plug there's two wires that loop from one pin to the other. Apparently they loose connection overtime and that gives the headlights a problem. So yes, butt splice the yellow wire and orange with red stripe wire.

Fixed!! It was that stupid little hetero wire that goes in a loop, I gave it a wiggle.. I'm going to cut it out of the system as you mentioned later, and solder it and everything. (PS, on a 95 it's a yellow with white instead of yellow, to people who may read this later http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )
